John Macklin Retires
Thursday, July 9, 2009

John Macklin has retired as General Secretary and will assist Craig Thornquest in the transition until August. John has had a long involvement in Beefsteak and Burgundy, first joining the Caxton Club in 1978. In 1987 John became the Charter President of the Yarra Falls Club.

Following relocation to Adelaide in 1990, John joined the committee of the Adelaide Club, was International President in 1997 and 1998 and Chair of the 2004 Golden Jubilee Convention Committee which was held in Adelaide. John was appointed as the General Secretary in December 2004. Over that period John has enjoyed liaising with the Branch Clubs and promoting the enjoyment and friendships that Beefsteak and Burgundy provides members.

We thank John for his support over the years. He will continue to enjoy membership of the Adelaide Club.
